The challenge The difference How it works Our joint commitment FAQ

Parenting is your most important job. Don't wing it.

Hatley supercharges your AI into your dream parenting partner.

Context matters. Turn talk into actions, actions into habits, and habits into character —
for you and your kids.

Works using email and any AI you already use:
Claude, ChatGPT, Mistral.
Or use Hatley directly — because knowing your family is what turns good advice into the right advice.

The challenge

You're juggling more than any generation before you

Both parents working. Aging parents. Inflation. AI reshaping jobs overnight. The demands keep stacking — and the advice landscape is designed to capture your attention, not improve your outcomes.

🏠

Your kids get what's left of you

By the time you're done with bosses, customers, colleagues, and deadlines, your social and emotional energy is spent. The people who matter most get whatever's left. When you pause to reflect, the regret hits — but you're too exhausted to break the cycle.

📱

The “free” advice is designed to monetize you

If the product is free, you are the product. TikTok tips, Instagram reels, ad-supported chatbots — their incentive is to keep you scrolling, not help your child. Anthropic (the makers of Claude) poked at exactly this during the Super Bowl. It's funny — but the underlying point is real.

🤖

Even good AI tells you what you want to hear, not what you need to hear

Generic AI gives advice that sounds helpful — but it's designed to please you, not challenge you. It doesn't know your child, won't push back when you're reinforcing the wrong pattern, and won't flag something that needs real attention. Advice is cheap. The hard part is context — knowing your family, tracking what actually works, and turning talk into actions, actions into habits, and habits into character. That's what Hatley does.

The difference

Same moment. Three very different outcomes.

These are real situations from one family. What happened when there was no system — and what changed when there was.

😤 You lost it this morning — now what?
Wing it
You carry the guilt through the day. Nothing gets examined. The same conditions produce the same result next week.
Generic AI
“It sounds like a stressful morning. Try to be kind to yourself.” Kind words. But nothing changes. The pattern stays invisible.
AI + Hatley
“The 9am pressure is yours, not theirs. They weren't running late — you were. The morning problem starts the night before. If they're going to bed late, there's no buffer. That's a structural problem, not a behaviour problem.” No judgment. A real diagnosis. And a fix that actually changed the mornings. Read the full story →
🌞 You haven’t opened your phone yet — but Hatley already knows what today needs
Wing it
You remember vaguely that last night was rough, but you’re already running late and the moment passes. The pattern keeps building, invisibly.
Generic AI
You’d have to open an app, remember to ask, and reconstruct what happened. You don’t. The advice would be generic anyway — it doesn’t know what last night looked like.
AI + Hatley
At 7am, before you’ve thought about it, the daily digest lands in your inbox. It already knows what happened — the frustration, the theme it’s been tracking, the repair that still needs to happen. It tells you what to prioritise today and surfaces the +1% action that keeps the Frustration Tolerance theme building. You walk in prepared. Read the full story →
🦷 Good advice is generic. The right advice knows your family.
Wing it
You remember “brush better.” The technique, the watch items, the specific feedback — gone by week two. The next appointment starts from scratch.
Generic AI
“Brush twice daily for two minutes.” Correct. Useless without knowing what your dentist actually said about your child, or that the bedtime routine already exists and just needs two more minutes.
AI + Hatley
The appointment notes become context that travels. Amy does bedtime — she wasn’t at the appointment — but when she opens Claude that evening, it already knows the technique correction, that Elliot responds to humor, and that the next few weeks are the habit-formation window. It even suggests a joke to make flossing land. The November appointment starts from where you actually are. Read the full story →

FAQ

Common questions

Yes. Core features like recording moments and getting personalized guidance are free during our introductory period — and we're committed to keeping moment logging free permanently. Your family's data belongs to you, always.

Because you already have enough apps. Hatley is designed to fold into the tools you're already using — Claude, ChatGPT, Mistral — so there's nothing new to learn and no new habit to build. Just talk to your AI like you normally would, and Hatley works behind the scenes.

We also have a web app at hatley.ai where you can chat with Hatley directly, review your family's history, and manage your account. It works on any device — phone, tablet, or laptop. Add it to your home screen and it functions just like a native app, with instant updates and no downloads.

ChatGPT gives decent advice — but starts from zero every chat. It doesn't know your child's triggers, what you tried last week, or whether the timer worked. With Hatley, your AI says “last time, the 3-breath reset helped — try it again?” instead of the same generic answer. ChatGPT alone is a parenting hotline. ChatGPT + Hatley is a parenting advisor who's known your family for years.

Hatley's coaching is built on three layers.

The first is clinical research. Our frameworks are grounded in leading developmental science — including the Gottman Institute's emotion coaching methodology, Dr. Dan Siegel's whole-brain child development approach, Dr. Ross Greene's Collaborative & Proactive Solutions model, Zones of Regulation, and more. These aren't trending tips — they're peer-reviewed research, adapted for your child's specific age and temperament.

The second is aggregate behavioral data. As families use Hatley to log moments, try strategies, and track outcomes, we learn which approaches tend to work for children at similar ages with similar challenges. When your AI recommends something, it's weighted by what's proven effective in practice — not just what sounds good in a textbook.

The third is your family's own history. Hatley tracks every strategy you've tried, whether it worked, and under what conditions. Over time, it builds a personalized playbook — stopping what failed, doubling down on what's working, and connecting insights across bedtime, homework, meltdowns, and everything in between.

Absolutely. Hatley uses an open standard (MCP) — your family's data isn't locked to any platform. Switch between Claude, ChatGPT, Mistral, or any future AI that supports connectors. Your history comes with you.

Your family's data is encrypted and isolated. Hatley only stores structured moments and plans — not raw conversations. We never sell or share your data. You can request complete deletion anytime. We're building toward full local storage so your data never has to leave your device.

Yes. Forward anything about your kids to [email protected] — school updates from Seesaw, Tadpoles, Brightwheel, ParentSquare, HiMama, teacher notes, activity confirmations, whatever matters. We intelligently parse it, link it to the right child, and store it permanently.

No more losing years of updates when your child changes schools or a subscription lapses. Hatley becomes the permanent record. Your forwarding email address must match your Hatley account email.

Most AI gives you a good answer and then it's gone. Hatley closes the loop. When Claude suggests a pre-game commitment talk before Saturday’s session, or a repair conversation tonight, those suggestions become action cards in the Hatley dashboard — scheduled, trackable, and logged when done. You can mark them complete, thumbs-up what worked, and dismiss what didn’t. That feedback is what lets Hatley learn what actually works for your child over time, not just what sounds right in theory.

The same applies to events. When school and enrichment emails land in your Hatley family inbox or are forwarded to [email protected], Hatley parses the dates, deadlines, and program details automatically. Coach recaps, enrollment windows, permission slips, camp confirmations — they all become context Claude can see and act on. Ask about summer planning and it already knows the enrollment constraints. Ask about next week and it already knows what’s scheduled. Nothing falls through the cracks because Hatley was there when the email arrived.

Each theme your child has — whether it’s Frustration Tolerance, Intellectual Curiosity, or a long-range goal like school admissions — has its own dashboard with four tabs.

Summary shows the current state in plain language, what’s coming next on the timeline, and any related documents Hatley has ingested — course guides, coach recaps, assessment results. It’s the briefing before you open Claude.

Actions has two sections: suggested actions Claude has surfaced based on recent context, and active actions you’ve accepted and are working on. You can activate a suggestion, dismiss it, or mark it done — and Hatley records the outcome either way.

Evidence shows the logged moments and signals that built the theme — so you can see exactly what pattern Hatley detected and why it made a specific recommendation.

Enrichments tracks the programs, classes, and activities connected to this theme, including session history and what the enrichment is actually building in your child over time.

The whole dashboard is designed so that when you open Claude and ask about this child, Hatley has already assembled the picture. The conversation starts informed, not from zero.

Every morning at 7am, Hatley sends you a short email — no app to open, nothing to remember to ask. It covers three things: what’s on your family’s calendar today, what’s overdue and needs attention, and a +1% action that keeps a behavioral theme building even on a normal day.

The +1% idea is simple: if you can make one small intentional step forward each day — for your child or yourself as a parent — those gains compound. The digest surfaces the right step based on everything Hatley knows: what happened yesterday, what’s been logged, what repair hasn’t happened yet, and what’s coming up. You don’t have to think about it. The plan finds you.

Hatley Castle in British Columbia — the filming location for Professor Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters in the X-Men films. We believe every child has superpowers waiting to be discovered and nurtured. Fun fact: the founder was married there.

Yes, two ways. If you use Hatley through Claude or ChatGPT, your AI can create Google Calendar events directly through its native integration. In the Hatley web app, coaching actions have a “Schedule” button that generates a standard calendar file (.ics) — tap it, pick a date, and your phone's calendar app opens with the event ready to confirm. Works with Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, Outlook, and any other calendar app. No login or permissions required.

Plan templates are structured preparation roadmaps for specific goals — like preparing for school admissions, developmental assessments, or enrichment milestones. When you adopt a template, Hatley creates a master plan with sub-themes and suggested milestones automatically. You customize the timeline and track progress step by step. Think of it as a project plan for your child's development, grounded in what actually works.

It depends on how you use Hatley. If you want to connect Hatley to Claude or ChatGPT, yes — Claude requires Pro or Team, and ChatGPT requires Pro/Team/Enterprise with Developer Mode. Mistral works with a free account.

You can also use Hatley directly at hatley.ai without any AI subscription at all. Our web app gives you the same coaching, the same family data, and the same features — no third-party AI account needed.
